Description
Institutional-based retrospective follow-up study was conducted in selected public hospitals of Awi zone from February 15 to 30/2025. Data were extracted and collected from medical records using a pretested structured questionnaire. A simple random sampling methods was used to select 401 preterm neonates from each hospital from March 9/2022 to March 9/2024. The data collection tool was comprised of socio-demographic variables (sex, maternal age, residence, marital status), maternal obstetrical predictors (ANC, type of pregnancy, mode of delivery), pregnant related complication (ROM, APH, maternal febrile illness, chronic medical illness (DM, HIV), gravidity, and parity), preterm neonatal related variables ( hypothermia, RDS, jaundice, gestational age, APGAR score, birth weight, Asphyxia, hypoglycemia, sepsis, HAI, NEC, apnea, dehydration), and treatment and health service variables (KMC, resuscitation, dexamethasone, exclusive breast feeding, immediate cry, Place of delivery) related characteristics. The dataset is available in Stata format.
