dc.descriptionThis community-based cross-sectional study was conducted among women who had given birth within the last 12 months (May 1, 2022 to April 30, 2023) in Bahir Dar City. A multistage sampling technique was employed to select a total of 504 mothers. Face-to-face interviews were used to gather data, and a pre-tested, structured questionnaire was used. Data were entered to Statistical Software Package for Social Sciences version 26 for analysis. The dataset comprised of Socio-demographic and socio-economic characteristics (age, marital status, educational status, husband education, occupation, husband occupation, family monthly income), obstetric and reproductive health factors (parity, pregnancy intention, history of adverse pregnancy outcomes, history of family planning use, history of institutional delivery, history of ANC services utilization, history of PNC service utilization, partner support), health care system factors (distance from home to health facility, availability of preconception care unit), mothers’ awareness and knowledge on preconception care, and preexisting medical illnesses (Diabetes Miletus, Hypertension, PIH, Cardiac diseases, Asthma, Renal problem, and Epilepsy) related characteristics. The data is available in SPSS format.
