Description
The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2023 datasets provide estimates of population, mortality, causes of death, disability, disease burden, risk factors, life expectancy, healthy life expectancy (HALE), and fertility. The datasets include estimates across different locations, sexes, age groups, years, measures, and causes. Results are reported as point estimates (val) with corresponding upper and lower uncertainty bounds. Key indicators include disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), years of life lost (YLLs), years lived with disability (YLDs), life expectancy, HALE, fertility, and disease burden attributable to risk factors such as air pollution, dietary risks, unsafe water, sanitation and hygiene, and child and maternal malnutrition.
