Abstract
Description
An institutional-based comparative cross-sectional study design was conducted from October 2024 to January 2025. A consecutive sampling technique was employed to select a total of 778 neonates and their index mother. The dataset comprised of socio-demographic variables (maternal age, residence, marital status, occupation, education, income level obstetrics variables (gravidity, parity, duration of labor, history of spontaneous abortion, history of still birth, history of neonatal death, ANC follow-up, severity signs, chronic illness, placental abruption, preeclampsia, prom, anemia in the current pregnancy, asphyxia in preceding birth, previous history of cs), behavioral variables (cigarette smoking history, chat chewing history, alcohol use history, maternal folic acid use), and neonatal variables (sex of the newborn, gestational age at birth, birth order, fatal presentation, birth weight (kg), meconium-stained amniotic fluid) related characteristics. The dataset is available in SPSS format.
